Temples!

Temples have always been a part of Heavenly Father’s church on the earth. In fact, the Garden of Eden is considered to be a type of temple, and was the first dwelling place of Adam and Eve – Heavenly Father’s first children.

As Adam and Eve walked with God in the garden, He taught them many things, including the plan of Redemption. In the temples of our day, we too talk about the plan of Redemption – which basically defines our purpose in life. As President Russell M Nelson has said –

In the house of the Lord, we focus on Jesus Christ. We learn of Him. We make covenants to follow Him. We come to know Him. As we keep our temple covenants, we gain greater access to the Lord’s strengthening power. In the temple, we receive protection from the buffetings of the world. We experience the pure love of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father in great abundance! We feel peace and spiritual reassurance, in contrast to the turbulence of the world.

Here is my promise to you: Every sincere seeker of Jesus Christ will find Him in the temple.

The Lord is hastening His work and directing the building of temples throughout the world wherever there are Saints who desire to bind themselves to Jesus Christ through sacred priesthood ordinances. These ordinances are not secret. They are sacred. You can find them in the scriptures. For example, the Pearl of Great Price and Genesis are two books that have the most complete temple information.

It is an exciting time to be alive! Never before has the gospel of Jesus Christ been taught in so many countries, expounded in so many languages, and testified of by tens of thousands of consecrated believers. A miracle is happening before our eyes!
