Temples are sacred spaces dedicated to the worship and work of Heavenly Father – which is the salvation of the human family. His work is exalting and so His House reflects His wonderful purposes in soaring Temple architecture that draws the eye, and the heart, heavenward. As people enter the House of the Lord, they see and experience beautiful artwork and hear words that heal and uplift them.

In the New Testament, our bodies are compared to the temple. In fact, our bodies are the temple of our spirits.
19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
The things you do, see, and think can greatly affect your ability to feel the Spirit of the Lord. The Spirit does not dwell in unholy temples, so it is necessary to cleanse yourself with weekly, even daily, repentance. This cleansing invites the Spirit of the Lord, and with His help the choices you make every day will be righteous.

It is amazing how far our thoughts can stray from that love and mercy that our Savior, Jesus Christ, has so generously shared with us. He is the light that we must continually hold up as our example.
Just as the temple is furnished with beautiful artwork, we need to furnish our minds with beautiful thoughts. Music, poetry, and scripture can bring the spirit. Since our brains can only think of one thing at a time we can control it. If we find ourselves deluged with negative ideas and thoughts we can turn to our own memorized, or bought, media to combat negative influences.

True happiness comes in living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
