Your Hands, His Hands

“When I think of the Savior, I often picture Him with hands outstretched, reaching out to comfort, heal, bless, and love. He loved the humble and the meek and walked among them, ministering to them and offering hope and salvation.

That is what He did during His mortal life; it is what He would be doing if He were living among us today; and it is what we should be doing as His disciples.”

Don R Clarke explained how he listens to the promptings of the Spirit. “I have a little book that I carry with me, where I record the inspiration and thoughts that I receive from the Spirit. As thoughts come to my mind, I write them down and then I try to do them. I have found that many times, as I have done something on my list, my action was the answer to someone’s prayer.” (Don R Clarke, 2007.)

Without doubt, the Lord loves His children. His works are great and marvelous and include the salvation and exaltation of the entire human family. It is a great thing that He invites us to work alongside Him and be his Hands in loving, encouraging and sustaining His children.

“As we emulate His perfect example, our hands can become His hands; our eyes, His eyes; our heart, His heart.” (Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf, 2010.)

Jesus said- Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. (Matt. 22:37-39)

Our spiritual discipleship is sustained as we reflect on and rejoice in the Lord and His infinite goodness. Developing ourselves to become more like Christ, we can grow in obedience and purity to reflect His love to those around us. Your example, more than anything else you can do, will bring others to Christ.
