He Is Risen!

Skipping over the trials, the scourging, the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, the miracle of the Risen Lord is revealed. Even to this day, the testimonies of His disciples are irrefutable. He revealed Himself to so many.

Giving comfort to His grieving disciples, Jesus first revealed Himself to Mary. Mary bore testimony to His other disciples that she had seen the Risen Lord. (John 20:11-28)

“Rabboni,” Mary said, recognizing Him. 17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Mary did just as Jesus had told her. She went and testified to the brethren that Jesus had risen. Some believed her testimony to be an idle tale. Peter ran to the sepulchre and found the grave clothes and wondered. Mary’s message caused many to wonder. As two disciples were walking to Emmaus, they spoke of Jesus Christ, His crucifixion and Mary’s testimony. There appeared a man who opened the scriptures to them. Later he ate with them. As the stranger broke the bread and blessed it, the two disciples eyes were opened and they saw Him. They knew that the stranger was Jesus. Hurrying back to Jerusalem they told their meeting with Jesus to all the brethren. (Luke 24)

Christianity is a religion of witnesses. The faithful testimony of eye-witnesses proclaim the risen Lord and we are left to believe in their words. Or not.

Christ appearing to 10 of the apostles after His resurrection, showing them His hands and feet and eating fish and honeycomb.(Luke 24)

The apostle Thomas feeling the wounds in the Savior’s hands, feet and side.(John 20:27)

Over 500 people simultaneously seeing the risen Lord in Galilee.(1 Cor. 15:6)

Paul’s witness that he saw the resurrected Savior.(1 Cor. 15:8;20;22)

The 2500 witnesses in the Book of Mormon who saw the resurrected Lord and felt the prints in His hands and feet.(3 Nephi 11)

These many testimonies are proofs of the reality of the Risen Christ. The onus is on each of us to read these accounts, study it out for ourselves and then pray for confirmation of the risen Lord. The Spirit testifies of truth. As you sincerely seek Christ and a witness of Him, you will receive it.

As you receive a testimony of the Christ, you will feel a desire to follow His teachings. Pray for inspiration and follow His promptings. Here is a link to a church that I recommend.
