“Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life’s Star,
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home:” William Wordsworth (1770-1850)
As Covid-19 has spread its deadly effects throughout the world many people mourn the loss of loved ones. We miss them, and we fear we will never see them or know their companionship again. The plan of salvation help us understand that death is not the end. The Book of Mormon prophet, Alma, explains –

“Behold, it has been made known unto me by an angel, that the spirits of all men, as soon as they are departed from this mortal body, yea, the spirits of all men, whether they be good or evil, are taken home to that God who gave them life.” (Alma 40:11)
It is a great comfort to know that at the end of this life we, along with our beloved family and friends, will go home to God. Death loses its sting as we anticipate joyful reunions with loved ones who passed on before us. Our hope grows as we build our faith in God. Our faith grows naturally as we keep His commandments, seek Him in prayer, and study His mighty works.
