Many of us like to set goals to improve ourselves, lose weight, gain knowledge, get more pay. It is in our nature to improve ourselves and progress. After all, our Father in Heaven created this earth so we (His children) could come here to walk by faith and learn to discern and choose good over evil. In short, we were sent here to become like God.
Joseph Smith posed a question in his famous King Follet sermon –
“What kind of a being is God?” he asked. Human beings needed to know, he argued, because “if men do not comprehend the character of God they do not comprehend themselves.”

Joseph Smith explained that human nature is at its core divine. God “was once as one of us” and “all the spirits that God ever sent into the world” are likewise “susceptible of enlargement.”
Life is a learning laboratory for all of us.
Recently our son-in-law ran a 66k in the mountains of Idaho. He wanted to prove to himself that he could do it. He felt the preparations he had to make to run 34 miles would improve his health, his fitness and his focus.

He did it! As a family, we attended the race to support him and cheer him on.

There is so much to learn! Skills such as friendship, loyalty, trust, kindness, humility, joy, and diligence all come from learning from each other. What a joy it is to have family and friends that love and support us in this wonderful experience called Life.

Thanks for your insight!!
