Retirement is a tricky time. It’s hard to know when to call it quits. Then once you’ve retired it’s hard to know if you can afford that fun vacation, new car, or second home. You may need to be careful. Whatever your circumstances it would be terrible to run out of money. Retirement can be scary.
It is important to take a deep breath and consider what you want out of the last 25 years of your life. Will you stay at home and watch the grand babies, or will you watch the grand babies AND go on that trip you’ve been dying to take since you were a kid?

Maybe we could start by dividing the years remaining into smaller chunks.
For example, someone recently told me that after retirement the 60’s are your “Go-go years”, the 70’s are your “Slow-go years”, and the 80’s are your “No-go years.” Keeping this in mind, if travel is a lifelong dream then it is best achieved during your Go-go years.

In the history of the world travel has never been easier or as safe as it is now. Some retirees even go on missions for their churches or charitable organizations. This is an opportunity that allows a person to serve those around them AND learn about and live in the culture they’ve studied. It is a truly unique opportunity for learning and growth.
With the passing of Mom, this is the choice we’ve made. We’ve put in our papers and we’re heading out on a service mission. I will start posting again to share our adventures.

We’ll leave all this wonderful slow-go travel for another time….

how exciting!! Excited to hear where you go. Keep us posted, please.
