We take time to celebrate! Steve had his 65th last month and we went to Ayia Napa to get into the water. It was warm and wonderful! The Mediterranean Sea is saltier than the Pacific and more buoyant! We bobbed in the waves for a good hour every morning and evening. It was great to do something completely different!
As missionaries, we are encouraged to form good habits. We walk for an hour early in the morning, then we start our daily devotional where we study “Come Follow Me” together. We also have personal study time. I study Greek and the Book of Mormon and Steve studies Jesus the Christ. Best of all? The results are sweet! We are working our missionary purpose together better than ever! That is joy!
Could we have made all these changes without going on a mission? Certainly! But there is something about being readily available to the young missionaries and branch members that requires a certain level of spirituality. I know I can’t deliver that on my own so it is best to request the spirit’s guidance from the very beginning! I have never felt more ready to bear my testimony, give a talk, or teach a lesson.
This wonderful mission has required sacrifice. And we are well aware that time is going by without us — two new grandbabies, 11 grandkid milestones, and so many wonderful familiar hugs. Not to mention Easter egg hunts, lemonade stands, and turkey season. We miss them but we have faith that serving a mission is worth the sacrifice.
Let’s not forget Noah, Amaris, Emmett and Rosie on the 4th of July!

I tell myself that there is no ocean in Idaho so I better make good use of it now! With this mediterranean humidity, a cool ocean feels pretty good once a p-day!:-)
