We’ve had an amazing week of miracles, and we’ve experienced righteous counsel and ministry. It all started in Relief Society. We were all discussing our personal challenges when Dorothy (non-Member) shared how her new landlord just raised her rent for a shared bedroom from 500 a month to 600 a month. She had one week to find another living situation or she was out on the street!

That’s when our wonderful RS president, Sister Julieth Echevarria, encouraged her to ask God, and pray and fast. All five of us in the class prayed for her and we agreed to fast the next day for Dorothy. It didn’t matter how long we could fast, but we would start in the morning and we’d all be unified in our desire and need.

This sweet sister, Dorothy, accepted Julieth’s advice and humbly fasted and prayed, nothing doubting. Very fearful, she bravely put aside her fear and exercised faith in Christ through fasting and prayer.
I didn’t see Dorothy for two weeks and I had no idea how it went. As she isn’t a member I didn’t have her number. But, yesterday she showed up at church and she was positively aglow! She actually bore her testimony about how the Lord answered her prayers, leading her to a rental that was 100 euros less, on the bus route she takes to work, and cleaner than her last rental. She thanked the RS sisters for encouraging her, strengthening her, and praying with her.

That’s what RS can be – a place where we are strengthened, loved, and encouraged into the loving embrace of our Savior, Jesus Christ. This is love.
I love that Sister Julieth challenged Dorothy to pray in faith. I love that all the RS sisters were ready and willing to pray and fast with Dorothy. Prayer is the answer! Fasting brings blessings!
And this wonderful, challenging counsel built all our faith as we reached out to God for help. Wonderful counsel! Wonderful miracle! Wonderful unity!

Sister Yee came to visit our island last Wednesday. She counseled all of the RS leaders to minister to each other in love. Then she demonstrated her love for each of us by her focused attentiveness as we introduced ourselves and exchanged pleasantries. Julieth Echevarria (far left) came with her 11 month old son, Dominic, so she was very popular and so was he!

what a beautiful experience. I love Relief Society.
