Many missions baptize people into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints more frequently than our Cyprus mission, but since we have been here we have helped 2 people enter the waters of baptism. These two new members are a delight to know and have entered the waters of baptism eagerly.

Patricia was baptized last month and we’ve been able to get to know her well. Shortly after her baptism we took her to lunch to explain Family Search. At the restaurant Patricia made a new friend. The woman serving us was from Sierra Leone and the same area that Patricia is from. She took down her number “because,” she said, “she is my sister.” We have since learned that Patricia looks out for and cares for many people from her home country. She ministers already! And shortly after that she accepted a call to serve in the Relief Society, telling our RS president gleefully, “I am on your team!”
We absolutely love having Patricia in our branch! She eagerly welcomed our newest member, Bradley, into the branch by speaking at his baptism! She said, “Since my baptism I am so happy! You will see! You will be happy too!”

Steve was able to baptize Bradley Tshikuna yesterday. Bradley speaks French and a bit of English. He spent many a Game Night playing Bingo and Uno with us. He took Gospel lessons from the missionaries using Google translate. It wasn’t easy but he stuck with it and finally decided that he was ready to be baptized! Steve baptized and confirmed him. We are excited to see him progress and receive his priesthood ordination and calling.

Our little twig is growing!!

How exciting!!! I love new converts. Such a blessing to see some progress in the gospel. We have been serving this past year in a Spanish speaking branch. Mark was just released as branch president. We will be moving to Tampa area in a few weeks. Love hearing your stories.
